2011 Spring Scream Festival Rabbit - April

Kenting, as crazy as usual. Ever since April, 1995, the spring break becomes the craziest time of a year. The festival is organised by two expatriate Americans, Wade Davis and Jimi Moe. The event length has been between 2 to 11 days and as many as 300 acts on 8 stages. It also features a film festival, art exhibits, DJs, stalls, food vendors and camping.

During Spring Scream, everyone is drunk and ready for fun. There are two news reports that got my attention this year. The first one is that a drunk white man was standing on the Kenting Rd. and blocked the way of a Taiwanese man. The Taiwanese man became angry, got out of the car, then cursed and kicked the foreigner. Tourists should be aware that there are several gangs in southern Taiwan, it is better to remain polite and stay out of trouble at all costs . The second news: two white girls and one white man were seen skinny-dipping in the sea. I know this is not a big issue in the West, but please note that you are in Asia now. Being naked in public is considered a crime in Taiwan. You will be fined if you do this. Hello, World!

There are millons of tourists, backpackers, exchange students and business people coming to Taiwan every year, it is certainly easier for the ones who speak Chinese fluently to get around. And also, there could be many misunderstandings, jokes, and humiliations happen if you do not understand Taiwan's culture and custom. For the reasons above, even though there are many other bloggers who have developed their blogs quite well, I'd still like to show yall my Taiwan. Basically I'm interested in almost everything, so no matter you're more interested in music, movies, food, photography, night life, dramas, travelling infomations and gossips, you'll be able to see them right here at NiHaoTaiwan-Ilha Formosa!
